Shopping on Mondays in Crestline

In the small town of Crestline, CA, shopping on Mondays can be a frustrating experience. Many retailers just don’t open shop on Monday - and a few don’t even open on Tuesday either.

Of course I didn’t think of this today when I headed out for my once a week errands. I went to the dog bakery - closed. To the used bookshop to sell some books and browse - closed. The thrift store was closed. Antique Row in Top Town was mainly shuttered tight.

So I hit the library and the Post Office, as government institutions tend to be open on week days.

I’m not saying all retailers in town are closed here on Mondays - after all, Ace Hardware, Goodwins Groceries and plenty of the other downtown retailers were open for business. It’s just funny that all the places I needed to go were taking a Monday sabbatical.
