Crestline Public Library Hosts Summer Reading Program For Kids
Friday, July 11, 2008 19:03While the wonderful outdoors of the Crestline area are more than enough to keep the kids occupied during their summer break, don’t overlook the chance to keep their minds stimulated indoors, as well.
To help you with this, the Crestline public library has set up wonderful summer reading program with a calendar of events that will thrill kids of all ages.
Here’s a rundown of upcoming events aimed at keeping your kids learning during their summer break:
- 7/16/08 @ 3pm- Mr. Twister will be visiting and demonstrating how to create balloon animals.
- 7/23/08 @ 3pm- Bugs, Bugs, Bugs! Kids can enjoy a forensic entomology program presented by the UCR Entomology Department.
- 7/25/08 @ 11am- Fire Safety Program, presented by the U.S. Forest Service’s Arrowhead Ranger Station. Kids can sing songs, learn about fire safety and even check out a fire truck. How cool is that?
- 7/30/08 @ 3pm- The Buster Balloon Show is in the house. Come see this wild show and witness a man inside a giant balloon.
- 8/6/08 @ 3pm- Alan Oshiro, illusionist, presents a classy magic show for kids.
- 8/13/08 @ 3pm- “What’s Bugging U?” is an interactive program that includes music, magic, giveaways and more fun, presented by Wonders of Wildlife.
- 8/13/08 @ 4pm- Enjoy the Finale Party where there will be pizza for all participants in the summer reading program and prizes will be given out. Everyone will leave with something, says the library.
Parents can sign up their kids for the summer reading program either online or at the library.

The Crestline Branch is part of the San Bernardino County Library system. It is located at 23555 Knapp’s Cutoff in Crestline.
Hours of operation are Monday 12pm - 8pm, Tuesday 10am - 6pm, Wednesday 11am - 6pm, Thursday 12 - 8pm, Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm.

I added some photos from the Crestline Library - the program is called/themed, “Catch the Reading Bug,” thus, all the insect decor. It’s really very cute.
