Soon-to-be mountain resident Ginger Groves is now selling custom, handmade pet blankets at the Cuby Dog Bakery in Crestline. The blankets, designed specifically for dogs and cats, are a part of Kids in Fur Coats Creations. “The blankets are created with love,” says Ginger, “for people who think of their pets as their kids.”

Located in The Alpine Mall at 23930 Lakeshore Drive, the blankets are now available at the dog bakery for $10- 25 each, depending on how labor-intensive the blankets are. “Fleece blankies cost lass than the patchwork quilted ones,” Ginger advises.

The first batch of blankets can be viewed via this SmileBox photo link (click on each blanket to enlarge). Cat blankets will also be available soon.

Most of these handmade blankets are made from from re-purposed fabric, so the Kids in Fur Coats Creations are eco-friendly products. In addition, Ginger pledges she will donate one dollar from each blanket sale to the Mountain Humane Society.

More designs will be created on an on-going basis, says Ginger, and she is taking orders for customized blankets and crate liners as well. “I am making holiday designs and also pet blanket duvets that can be switched out with the seasons,” Ginger concludes.
