Dan and I wrote and published a trail description of the lovely loop trail around Lake Gregory at Suite101.com. It’s in the Hiking and Backpacking topic, and includes a picture. I need to get more pictures, actually. It’s a great loop and there are two options - you can hike the path directly on the shoreline (which boasts fitness stations), or take the jogging loop up along the edge of the road encircling the lake. Either way takes you right along the beach.

Both trails are about 2.5 miles (the upper trail adds a bit extra to the loop). The lakeside trail takes about 45 minutes to hike at a slow and steady pace. Leashed dogs are welcome, and you do go right by the Crestline dog park for a bit of off-leash romping (link leads to my article/photos on the subject).
