A Circling Helicopter on this Fine Morning
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 15:13Posted in category Uncategorized
For some reason a helicopter is spent the entire morning, from around 8Am until noon, circling over the Crestline bowl. As someone who sleeps in until 10 or 11 each morning, I found that a tad annoying. I did get back to sleep by managing to incorporate the THWAP THWAP THWAP into my dreams. Hmmm.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the wilderness and small towns, so when I see a helicopter so obviously “looking for something,” Search and Rescue operations come to mind first.
It’s possible someone is lost out there in the mountains.
After all:
- We don’t need TV news traffic helicopters (we don’t have a single red light),
- a hospital Life Flight would not take hours of circling,
- and a tourist would see everything there is to see from the air here in a couple of pass overs.
So I will guess someone is lost and in need of rescue?

It may have had something to do with house construction. It seemed to be hanging out in one specific area for most of the time.

What would a helicopter have to do with house construction? I don’t know. It didn’t seem to be hovering or lowering anything. Big mystery, I guess.
